your manaseh moment is coming

by Jamal Ross

It has been a long journey. We have learned so much about depression, as well as how this condition can be treated. We have learned that many conditions can have a depressed mood as a symptom, such as premenstrual syndrome (PMS), post-partum blues and depression, normal and prolonged grief, major depression disorder, bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We have learned that therapy is useful in most, if not all, of these conditions. We have also learned that medications play a role when a depressive condition is severe, impacts our daily function or a deep physiological basis is the culprit of our emotions. In the end remember, depression does not control you. You are not defined by this condition. You are already free from depression or any negative emotions through the suffering and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Today, I would like to pray for your healing and thank God in advance that he has broken the chains of depression in your life.

“Father God we thank you for this day. We even thank You for this moment. We thank You God because we know that You are Holy, Mighty, and Strong. In fact, You are our Champion. You defeat every disease, illness, and negative emotion. You defeat depression. Resoundingly! So, we thank you for being who You are.

You word says, You made Him that knew no sin to become sin that we might be Your righteousness. (2 Corinthians 5:21) So, it is in Your righteousness that we stand. We know that we cannot approach your throne of grace least we are covered in the blood of king Jesus. And we ask that Your righteousness covers us as we say, thank you. Thank You for being who You are. Thank you for being ruler. Thank You for being mighty. And that You for caring about us. Thank You for know the very number of hairs upon our head. (Luke 12:7) And thank You for breaking all the chains of depression.

God, I would like to pray a special prayer of blessing over those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or any negative emotion. For those who are affected by memories of abuse as child or an adult, let the know You as the “God of Manasseh” – The God that makes us forget. () I ask God that You take their promised life, hide it in Your bosom, and give it to them one day in such as way that they will forget everything that’s happened to them. They will forget their hurt, pain, disappointment, and abandonment. They will even forget those memories that seem to be etched into the fabric of their heart. We thank you today for what you are going to do in the future. We thank You today for breaking every stronghold, every chain of depression, and we thank You for being who You are. More importantly, we thank You for dying for us, saving us, and making us Yours. In Jesus name. Amen.”

Remember, what good is it to have you body healed or to have depression removed if you do not know Jesus? Accept Him into your heart and He will change Your life.
